Honoring Oncologist-Scientist and Pulitzer Prize Winning Author, Siddhartha Mukherjee, MD
Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee is a renowned physician, oncologist, and author whose work has profoundly impacted the field of medicine, particularly in the study and treatment of cancer. His groundbreaking research and ability to translate complex medical science into compelling narratives have earned him international recognition, including the Pulitzer Prize for his book The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer. His latest work, The Song of the Cell: An Exploration of Medicine and the New Human, continues his investigations of what defines humanity – exploring cells as a centerpiece in biology and highlighting our rapidly growing ability to manipulate them.
In addition to his books, Siddhartha has published articles in Nature, The New England Journal of Medicine, The New York Times, and Cell. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University before receiving a Rhodes Scholarship that led to his earning a D.Phil from the University of Oxford. In 2000, he earned a medical degree from Harvard Medical School.
