In this interview with Foundation chairperson Philip Ninan (Batch ’69), Dr. Alok Srivastava (Batch ’76) shares the many breakthroughs of the Centre for Stem Cell Research, including the development of gene therapy products.

ABOUT DR. ALOK SRIVASTAVA

Dr. Alok Srivastava has helped build the comprehensive adult and pediatric haematology service and teaching programs at CMC over the last three decades. He is a founding teacher for the DM Haematology program in India. His research interests have been in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and hemostasis disorders. Over the last 15 years, he has been responsible for establishing the Centre for Stem Cell Research, Vellore as a translational unit of the Institute of Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine as a collaboration between this institute, CMC, Vellore and the Department of Biotechnology of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
