Capital Improvements

A Public-Private Partnership that Continues to Pay Great Dividends for CMC

In partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development’s American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) program, we’ve provided CMC with more than $11 million to support infrastructure and capital improvement projects. These have ranged from the construction of a state-of-the-art library for the College of Nursing, to the development of a sewage treatment plant, to the installation of an anatomic pathology lab.

U.S. Alumni Generosity Paves Way to Opening of New CMC Trauma Center

Major gifts and individually sponsored matching gift campaigns, initiated by members of the U.S. alumni community, have ensured the completion of the Departments of Trauma, Radiology, and Urology at CMC’s Level One Trauma and Specialty Medicine Center, which is scheduled to open soon. This state-of-the-art facility will be the first of its kind in South India.

Capital Campaign Delivered Hope and Assistance to CMC’s Graduates

With the generous support of our institutional and individual members and CMC alumni, charitable funds were raised to support the construction, equipping and staffing of an Assisted Living Facility that provides on-campus housing for CMC retirees in need of extended medical treatment. Opened in August 2020, this facility offers free accommodations to those members of the CMC community who have dedicated their careers to serving the medical needs of the poor.
