The Bridge House at CMC Vellore's Ranipet Campus

A Haven for Healing at CMC Vellore

The Bridge House project aims to provide affordable, safe, and clean accommodation for long-term patients, particularly transplant      patients, at CMC Vellore’s Ranipet Campus. These patients are often from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and require extended stay in a sterile environment for follow-up care. By alleviating non-medical financial burden, Bridge House will allow patients to focus on recovery and healing.

The Vellore CMC Foundation aims to raise $500,000 to construct and furnish a floor dedicated to pediatric transplant patients in the Bridge House facility. Your support is invaluable in helping us achieve our goal.

Creating tailor-made accommodation options for transplant patients including sterile rooms and shared facilities

CMC envisions the Bridge House facility to be a ten-story building with approximately 70 private and 90 semi-private rooms housing no less than 160 patients and their family members at any one time.  Floors 1-4 will be dedicated to transplant patients, while floors 5-9 will serve as a “Chatram” (rest-house) facility for other patients.

For financially constrained individuals who often resort to crowded lodges, heightening infection risks for immuno-compromised patients, the Bridge House aims to be a comforting haven, facilitating convenient access to follow-up care.

A Supportive Community Created through Safe Spaces

Patients travel to CMC from all over the country seeking health and healing. Over 400 transplants were performed at CMC in the last financial year (FY 2023-24).

Life-saving treatments for children and adults can last from a few weeks to a few months. Families grappling with conditions like cancer and kidney diseases not only face these health challenges but also the added stress of finding affordable and secure long-term housing in Vellore

Bridge House is CMC’s dream to offer accommodation that is clean, safe and secure for long-term patients to continue their treatment, recover, and regain strength.
