“Rekindle: Sisterships in Mission” Event Held in Partnership with RCA

On Thursday, Dec. 9th the Women’s Transformation and Leadership ministry from the Reformed Church in America (RCA) in collaboration with the Vellore Christian Medical College (CMC) Foundation held a virtual celebration entitled “Rekindle: Sisterships in Mission”. The RCA Women’s Leadership group including Reverend Liz Testa, Coordinator for Women’s Transformation and Leadership, helped to design and host this global mission event for hope. The evening’s program highlighted the season of Advent, Dr. Ida Scudder’s 151st birthday, and CMC’s endeavor to construct a maternity hospital in the Jawadhi Hills region of south India.

Lecture Series: Philip Yancey on “God, Medicine, and the Pandemic”

Philip Yancey shares the principles he has come to learn through years of writing about God and suffering. Yancey also speaks about his relationship with Dr. Paul Brand, a prominent physician who worked with leprosy patients at Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore, and how that relationship influenced his perception of pain.

Foundation Board Member, Dr. Madelon Finkel Receives Independent Publisher Book Award

The Foundation and CMC have once again been selected by USAID as an American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) grant recipient, a federally funded program that supports infrastructure and capital improvement initiatives. The FY2020 ASHA Grant will support the use of robotics and Artificial Intelligence to help improve physical rehabilitation for people with disabilities.
